We would like to apologise for any difficulties you may have experienced contacting the surgery by telephone. We were using a temporary phone system which enabled us to continue to work both remotely and on site. We are aware that this caused  difficulties for some patients and we would like to reassure you that we have now been able to revert back to our previous phone system.

All appointments will now be by telephone or video consult unless a clinician specifically asks you to come in. Please note that our phone lines are extremely busy, please use the econsult link above instead of calling - thank you.

Prescription requests can be ordered calling the Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) Freephone telephone 0808 1647678 - between 8.00am -4.00pm

Please do not send requests for medication via our email, this is used for important medical information only. Pharmacies and Third Party must also request medication through the POD unless the request is for patients having blister packs.

For patients concerned that they may have the coronavirus or may have come into contact with someone who has, the NHS 111 online service has created coronavirus pages that tell patients what they should do based on their particular circumstances.  These can be accessed at:


Patients are now able to book appointments outside normal surgery hours.  Appointments are available weekdays both early morning and evenings plus Saturday all day and Sunday morning.  The surgeries will be located either at Benfield Valley Health Hub, formerly County Clinic or at Mile Oak Surgery.  You can request to be booked into these clinics when you speak to Reception.  Please note that these appointments can only be booked by our Receptionists.

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

GP Earnings

From 31st March 2016 all GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (eg average pay) for GP’s working to deliver NHS services to patients at each Practice.


The average pay for GP’s working for 6 months or more in Portslade Health Centre Medical Practice in the last financial year was £42,865.00 before Tax and National Insurance. This is based on 3 full time, 7 part-time and 2 locum GP's
